Portfolio >> Web Applications >> Next Element Stats 2.0 | 2010
This project is a massive improvement on the old Next Element Stats. I designed and coded this project from scratch ensuring all best practises were kept to W3C standard.

The PHP behind this project was also developed to a high standard using Object Oriented programming and splitting up class files where necessary. All HTML code was kept separate from the PHP logic to make the whole project more scalable.

The main new feature in this project was 'click overlays'. This means clients could see exactly where users clicked on their advert which is invaluable information for the client.

Major database updates were needed on the old database which contained over 15,000,000 rows of data. I approached this in a professional manner by creating small command line scripts that looped through tables to update the rows and allow extra information to be stored for the new version. This ensured no downtime was experienced on the existing database.

The project has been designed so anyone can set it up by changing some variables in the configuration file which allows outstanding real time magazine statistics for any of Next Elementís publications.
